Poetry Lessons

I love poetry and write whenever I have the time and inspiration strikes.  I took several creative writing and poetry classes in college and I also used to facilitate a poetry workshop in a correctional facility and another for members of a mental health clinic.  I am not interested in critiquing other people's poetry but to help people develop writing skills in poetry and to gain a deeper appreciation and understanding of poetry.  I have an entire "syllabus" I drew up for the groups I ran with different techniques and forms studied with poems to read to see the technique or form at work.  We could even lead up to a spoken word performance at a local poetry reading if members are interested.
