Hello everyone!

IMPACT!, Inc.'s new initiative: The Newburgh Repair cafe is seeking time-bankers to help volunteer as "Repair Coaches" at our Newburgh Repair Cafe.  The events take place at Grit Works located at 115 Broadway, Newburgh, NY 12550.  At the Newburgh Repair Cafe, people who are handy at fixing one thing or another volunteer to help other people within the Newburgh community fix their broken items.  We need people who sew, electronics repair, computer repair, small appliance repair, bicycle repair, etc... If you are handy at fixing one thing or another and would like to come help members of your community repair their broken items (teaching them repair skills to utilize in the future), then this opportunity is for you.  We hold 6 Newburgh Repair Cafe events per year and will be setting the date for our next event soon.  The events are always on a Saturday and are 4 hours long, typically from 12:00pm-4:00pm.  The first 3 events have been a tremendous success and people have been able to get help to fix everything from bicycles to espresso machines!

The Newburgh Repair cafe helps people learn repair skills to empower them to repair their broken items instead of throwing them out.  It combats consumerism, reduces waste, saves people money, and best of all it gets people out into the community to meet their neighbors and creates and strengthens community ties here in Newburgh.  For more information on how a repair cafe works visit: www.repaircafehv.org.  or visit The Newburgh Repair Cafe Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/NbgRepairCafe.
